New addition to Kailey's room!

Kailey got a Hannah Montana Fat Head for Christmas this year. They are life size posters that mount to your wall. She has the perfect spot in her room for them. There is a ledge up in her room that really is too tall up there for anything so it was the perfect spot to put the fat heads. Corey and Allie came up tonight for New Years Eve and put them up for her. Thank you Corey and Allie!!! They turned out so cute! Kailey LOVES them!!!

Merry Christmas 2008!!!

Santa came to our house! Kailey got up around 7am this morning and came right up to tell us that Santa brought her a Wii! She was so excited! We came down to see what Santa had brought and figured Kayden would be up anytime now... we waited and waited and then he finally woke up at 8:30... I thought Kailey was going to die waiting for him to get up. He's normaly the first one up every single morning.

waiting for Kayden to wake up to open presents....
we decided to let Kailey open one present while Kayden was still sleeping... one present started ringing so Kailey opened it. It was a cell phone. She was so excited!!!Kayden finally woke up and he had a pretty good time this year opening presents...
After presents Grandma and Grandpa came up from Spanish Fork and we had breakfast. Orange rolls, cinnamon rolls, hashbrowns, bacon and eggs. Yummy!
The rest of the day this is what I saw of Kaydenand Kayden played with his trackand Bruce played with the shovel and snow blower. We got hit pretty hard with snow over night. We actually lost power for a hour or so on Christmas morning.
Brady came out later Christmas day and drove out Grandma and Grandpa Merrill to stay the night, it was snowing pretty hard. For dinner I cooked a turkey. We had cheesy potatoes, raspberry jello, corn and rolls... and pumpkin pie for dessert.

Christmas Eve!!!

Christmas Eve we always go to my parents for dinner and we all exchange presents. This year we had deep fried turkey (yummy), cheesy potatoes, yams, rolls, jello salad... and tons of treats afterwards. I swear i'm going to gain 20 pounds before the holidays are over with. My diet starts January 5th!!!
Anyways... We all had a great time. The babies were fun this year, and really got into opening presents. So much fun!

Eating Cookies...

We have been finding Kayden in a new spot the last couple of days :) He's in the closet! Tonight he wanted a cookie and then went and sat in the coat closet and ate it. Kailey would shut the door and open it and Kayden would sit and laugh... pretty entertaining stuff!

Merrill Christmas Party

Tonight we went up to Bruce's parents for a family Christmas party. We had lots... and lots of yummy food and had fun chatting with everyone! I LOVE this time of year when everyone gets together to celebrate Christmas. It makes me excited for Christmas morning with the kids!

To entertain Kailey I let her take my camera around... this is always fun to see what she comes back with :)

Kailey's class Christmas Party

On Friday (December 19th) we had Kailey's class Christmas party. I only had one parent call to volunteer, so I begged Bruce to come help me keep the kids entertained. I planned a few projects for them to keep us busy. We first had them decorate a little frame that I would put around their picture and it would go on a train. This was the class gift that we gave to Ms Anderson.

I think it turned out pretty cute! Ms Anderson LOVED it!!!

Next we had them decorate a Christmas ornament and then wrap it up in a Christmas bag so they could give it as a gift to someone they knew. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun and we're pretty creative.
We then had them all sit in a big circle and we had Ms Anderson read the Night Before Christmas story... with a few twists. Each kid brought a gift to exchange. In the story it had "left" and "right" added through out the story. The kids would then pass them in that direction. When the story was over, which ever present they were holding was theirs to keep. They loved it and had a ton of fun.
Ms Anderson was very sweet and bought presents for each of the kids. She doesn't have kids of her own so she seemed to have fun buying for each of them. After, they had Christmas cookies and capri suns for treats. The kids had a ton of fun and so did the adults. It was a great party!

Lights at Temple Square

Last Saturday (yes, it looks as if i'm a bit behind on blogging :) Anways... last saturday my mom came up and we took Kayden, Colton and Garrett down to see the lights at Temple Square since we haven't been down for years! They are still so pretty!!!

The babies were all bundled up in the stroller so they kept really warm and cozy. Garrett was so cozy that he didn't last too long.. he fell right to sleep only about 10 minutes into walking around.
Grandma and Colton in from of the temple

Colton in front of the huge lighted treeColton was a big help as always that night! We rode trax downtown to save time with traffic. Colton helped get Kayden on and off the train. This was extra cute... funnier in person i'm sure. Kayden had on his snow suit and his legs were swishing together when he walked. You could barely see his little feet. So cute to see him walking with Colton. On the train... I couldn't get pictures of Garrett and Grandma because it was so full that night.

Santa

Today we went to see Santa. Kayden was a little nervous at first and tried to get down but I think he finally realized that he couldn't actually get down until he had his picture taken with Santa. So... as you can see below... he just kind of nuzzled in and had his picture taken.

As soon as that was over with he was ready to get down as fast as he could! Overall, he did really well and LOVED the candy cane that Santa gave him after. I think Santa is bringing this little boy a good Christmas.

Kailey was with her dad this weekend so she didn't get the chance to see him.. we will hopefully get down to see him again before Christmas!

Festival of Trees

Today we went to the festival of trees. We hadn't been for the past few years so it was fun to see all the trees and of course try out the yummy food. The sweet rolls were delicious!!! There were so really creative trees this year!
Here are just a few of our favorites...

Loved the Harley Davidson tree.. This one had a little village running around it, so cute!
The Diva tree... loved the pink and blackThe Nascar treeThe Jazz treeThis one was really neat! The tree was made totally out of golf clubs... i knew Bruce would love this oneAs you can see, Kayden was very relaxed and didn't see the need to stay awake for all the trees...
