Mom Update

Yeah! Mom got to go home today from the hospital around 11am. I stopped by the hospital after a work meeting and she looked SO much better today! She will have to wear a neck brace for a few weeks and will need to be EXTRA careful and take it way easy for quite a while but they said everything went very well. They gave her a presciption for some nice drugs, so i'm sure that should help forget about the pain for a little while :) Were all hoping the surgery will take care of everything and that she will make a full recovery. We love you lots Mom!

Grandma Olsen

Another surgery in the family :( Grandma Olsen (my mom) had surgery this morning. Although it makes us all nervous when anyone has to have surgery, this one will hopefully be a good thing. Mom has been in pain forever it seems like and she has kind of been getting the run-around from doctors until now when she was finally told she had bone spurs, which was causes a pinched nerve. They had to go in through the throat and kind of move everything aside to go in and fix everything. It sounds so weird and scary that they actually have to cut your throat open!!! Yikes!!!
Me, Allissa, Colton and the babies went down to keep my dad company and to see my mom when she was finished with the surgery. She was really out of it and seemed to be in alot of pain. It is so hard seeing my mom like that! It was just a few weeks ago, Bruce's mom was in the hospital. I'm hoping after this, that everyone can stay well for a while.

She should be able to go home tomorrow and actually get to rest. While you're in the hospital they are in checking on you so often that you barely get to sleep at all.

Kailey is a Brownie!

Kailey is a Brownie in the Girl Scounts of Utah. One of my friends Robin and her daughter Rachelle are her Girl Scout leaders. Kailey LOVES going to Girl Scouts and just had to have the uniform even though it is optional. She saw the little girl on the website and begged me for it. So, down to the store I go to get the uniform and her books... over $100 later, I have the uniform, books and all kinds of extras :) That little store is trouble! They have all kinds of scrapbooking paper, stickers, etc. Now I just need to find the time to actually get the scrapbook paper into the scrapbook with all the pictures.

Kayden's new trick!!!

Kayden is now... NOT walking but standing on his own without holding on to anything. He is very steady and could probably walk but it too chicken. Fine by me, this is a way to keep him little for just a little longer! He was so excited because we were clapping for him, but as soon as I brought the camera out, he wanted the camera and wouldn't do it anymore. Me and Bruce had to bribe him with cell phones to get him to hold still for just a second :)

Kailey and Kayden-Teeth!!!

What's with all the teeth??? :)
Kailey had a dentist appt today, and i've been really nervous about it because they were using gas. She is so dang little and skinny that it freaks me out to know that they would be using something like that on her but after seeing her today I would do it again in a heartbeat! She did awesome today! She has a couple of her back teeth that never formed right so they had to go in and build them up because they are her permanent teeth. They had to give her a few shots and she didn't even mind it a bit. She just layed back and watched her movie. I was so glad that things went well for her and that it was a horrible experience for her. If her teeth are anything like mine, she will be visiting the dentist often.... I kept her home from school today because I knew her mouth would be pretty sore. She layed around and watch movies most of the day.

Next is Kayden... and guess what, he has another tooth that came in on and has another one on the way. He only has one more, and all 4 molars will be in. This poor kid has had a rough time with teeth!

Update on Grandma Merrill

Grandma Merrill went home from the hospital today!!! She had her surgery yesterday and the Dr said they think they got it all and that everything should be ok now. We went up and saw her at the hospital yesterday. I don't know if she remembers seeing us, but we'll remind her later :) She was in alot of pain yesterday, it was really sad.
Bruce drove up and saw her today and said she is doing really well and had been up walking around already. She is such a trooper! We're all so happy that she is feeling a little better today. I just hope she takes it easy and takes care of herself!
